What Companies Really Measure

cultureleadership

If you want to understand a company, don’t listen to what it says.

Look at what it measures.

Many companies talk about:

  • “best practices”
  • “lean”
  • “agile”

But what they actually measure is simple:

How much time you spend being “productive”.

Which often means:

  • no time for experiments
  • no time for improvements
  • no time for better engineering practices

And then everyone wonders why nothing really changes.
